a hopeful return

It feels odd to say, “Years ago, I used to blog every day,” but it has been that long. And I spent that much time writing and sharing.

Many things besides an Autism diagnosis have taken over my life of late, such as caregiving for Mom, a few more house moves, and a variety of new and long-standing health issues that need attention. But few things bring me as much comfort as opening WordPress and clicking on “Add New.”

This re-entry has been tapping around in my head for a few months now. Something inexplicable finally clicked one morning, and at last, I felt the validity of sharing my thoughts and experiences – without crippling apprehension.

So here I go, hitting “Refresh!”

I hope to broaden my connections with others beyond the sound and sight bites of the usual social media realms. Given my likely list of topics, things may get wide-ranging. I used to post on separate websites/blogs for my various interests:

  • Writing: fiction, non-fiction, poetry
  • Personal views, experiences, and opinions
  • Architecture (my former profession)
  • Arts, crafts, & illustrations (my true passions!)
    • Watercolors
    • Oils
    • Acrylics
    • Pastels
    • Pen & ink
    • Graphite & charcoal
    • Digital Art
    • Wire-wrapping
    • Photography
    • Glass lampwork
    • Knitting & crocheting
  • Exchanging images, experiences, and thoughts about UAPs/ETs/UFOs/CE-5s/Alien culture (it all has so many names now!)
  • Buddhism & the spiritual path
  • Dreams
  • Parenting
  • Rants
  • Crystals

For now, I’m going to focus right here. My old sites and posts are still available; I’m just not giving them much attention. The concussions and other stresses have affected the frequency and quality of my “channeling” work and my view of the spiritual path.

A few new topics have captured my passion:

  • Advocating for disability, chronic pain, & chronic illness
  • Advocating for Autism (I was diagnosed in 2018) & neuro-divergency
  • Needle-felting
  • Betta fish care
  • Whittling
  • Leatherworking
  • Gaming (I play Guild Wars 2 online)

I would love to hear from longtime friends, and look forward to meeting new ones!

Before I click “Publish,” I’ll stare at the screen, stim, and hesitate: I hope I’ll find the energy and time to resume posting regularly. So many concerns! I need to catch up on WordPress; internet culture has changed quite a bit in recent years.

Despite my reluctance to lengthen my to-do list, my Leslee-ness yearns to peek out and blossom again. Thinking of sharing my writing again taps a fresh spring in my being.

Please comment and let me know if you share my interests, especially if you’re a blogger returning after a hiatus – I want to read about your experiences!
