I’m an artist with Autism and ADHD, so the concept of a regular sleep and wake schedule leaves me chuckling.
Sardonic.
And I expect my age factors into it, too.
Last night, I tried 6 different methods that usually help me fall asleep. Total fail.
At 2 am I surrendered, rose from bed, and began two new watercolor paintings. It didn’t make me sleepy, but my mind calmed and that jazzy buzzy jumbled energy flowed out from my fingertips, into the water and paint, and onto the paper. By 4 am I felt ready to try sleep again.
It worked that time. I may have a new bedtime routine!
